Requests for Book Reviews

I'd like to thank everyone for all of the requests for book reviews you've sent me! I'm so very glad people find my channel entertaining enough to want me to review their books.

Please read this FAQ regarding my Books, Booze and Reviews channel, and any reviews I do on this blog:

  • I don't take requests for book reviews.
    • There are a lot of reasons for this- the two main ones being:
      • I have to read for my day job, so I most likely won't have time to read your book.
      • I only review books I like, and if you request a review there is always the possibility I might not like your book.
  • This blog and video channel have nothing to do with my day job, other than the books I read. If you happen to know me through my day job, please do not contact me at my company.  It's not work related and I feel guilty about using my work time on my "hobby".
  • If you need to contact me, here are a few ways you can do so:
    • Twitter @skellykitten
    • YouTube Personal Message -- BooksBoozeReviews
    • Through this blog.
  • If I took the time to review a book on my channel- you really should read it. I know you probably can't tell what the book is about because I'm inebriated- but I only review books that I think are worth it.
  • I am crusading against Amazon.
    • This is probably one of the most important things you should know about my blog and channel.
  • The chances that I will review a self published book are slim. I'm not going to say I never will, but self-publishing goes against the whole purpose of my channel.
    • Not because I don't think there are good self published writers out there, but because it doesn't do anything for the business I'm in. Independent bookstores are a completely different animal than independently self published books.
  • No. I don't want to marry you and live in your mom's basement, but thank you for asking. Again.
  • No. I will not send you a lock of my hair. Not the blue part or the black part.
  • No. I will not make a video of me just shaking the cocktail shaker.
  • No. I don't care what you are doing when you're watching the videos and I most certainly do not need a picture.
